The following are examples of visits organised by Registers of Scotland in 2009:  

  • Alderney and Guernsey – Visit from the Alderney and GuernseyLand Register Steering Group.  In March 2009 the steering group visited RoS for presentations, practical demonstrations and discussion on converting from a paper based, non-indemnified Land Register to a plans based, indemnified Land Register.
  • Denmark – Visit from the University of Aalborg. In April 2009, Registers of Scotland hosted visits from students of the University of Aalborg. The group received an overview of the land registration process in Scotland.
  • Iraq – Visit from The Iraqi Ministry of Justice. In August 2009, 10 delegates from the Iraq Ministry of Justice visited for a week long study tour. The group were interested in topics relating to conversion and computerisation of records and the transition to an Executive Agency.  A social and cultural programme was also organised for them including a visit to a performance of the Military Tattoo held at EdinburghCastle.

Planned study tours for 2010. Representatives will visit from Uganda, Malawi and Albania (to be confirmed).
