Previous LR Information

1. In your system, before granting a deed for sale or mortgage, is it compulsory, necessary or convenient to get information from the Land Registry?

It is necessary to get information from Land Registry before granting a sale or mortgage deed, because all the data about the property and its owner is stored in the LR. Before the deed is granted, the notary shall check the data in the LR, as well as in the Mortgage register and the register of Property seizure acts.

2. What type of information is requested?

Extracts from the LR, the Mortgage Register (MR) and from the Register of Property Seizure Acts (PSAR) give all the required information.

3. Who usually (or legally) deals with requesting this LR information? Public notaries? Solicitors? Interested parties themselves? Banks?

Information to LR and MR is mostly provided by notaries or interested parties themselves. Information to MR can also by provided by banks. Information to PSAR can only by provided by arrest institutions.
