Registering rights derived from acts between a married person and a third party

Matrimonial Property Regime does not exist in Cyprus. There are no special requirements derived from the spouses’ civil status that must be taken into consideration for a new title to be registered at our Department. Marriage is considered to be solely an interpersonal union and under no circumstances changes the independency of any of the spouses to own property. It is often the case that spouses may own a share (sometimes equal among each other) on a given property but still they may transfer it, at any time, it if they wish to do so.
