Other registers and searches
Are there any other registers or sources of information that it is usual to search when buying a property or lending money on mortgage?
A future buyer of a property will investigate its legal status in the Land Registry. Another registry that it is usual to search when it comes to buying a building is the Planning Office where one may find information relating to the permission of construction.
A future mortgagee, namely a bank, may also refer to a special registry created by the banks where every loan is registered, so the lender can discover if the debtor has financial obligations to other banking institutions.
